The low beams, log fires and genuine quirkiness of the pub add to the old-world charm to be experienced at The Black Horse. A truly British Country pub in the beautiful Sussex hamlet of Nuthurst.
Rob Cole took over The Black Horse in August 2014, along with his fantastic team the doors are open and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Rob’s message is ‘we have now made ourselves part of the local community and we are feeling at home. We have hosted various events over the last few months and Christmas, many of which have been in aid of local charities. We are hoping to continue this trend with many planned events in the future so please come and join us.’
Our friendly staff are happy to offer at least four quality cask ales, all of which will be local ales. Our choice of ales might vary from time to time, but our service with a smile is always a given.
Our menu offers a wide range of traditional country pub fayre and innovative dishes to cater for all tatses. All our meals are home cooked and our ingredients are locally sourced. Our much loved Sunday roasts are ever popular and there are always two choices of roast with all the trimmings, booking is essential.
Wednesday nights we continue to host our hugely popular quiz, conducted by our unique quizmaster Nick. This is growing in popularity, so to be sure of a table to eat or just to ‘quiz’, booking is essential.
